- How long can you expect gold plating to last?
MAYARI jewelry does not guarantee that the gold plating and ruthenium/rust baths of our models will last forever. The bathed pieces are, by default, more fragile and susceptible to losing color over time. The speed at which this color disappears depends on multiple factors such as the use of chemicals on the skin, the level of body sweating or even the same pH level of each person’s skin. For this reason, it is especially important to take proper care of your gold plated jewelry.
- How to take care for my jewelry?
Please remove jewelry before showering or swimming. Avoid contact with water, excess humidity, lotion, hairspray, and perfume. This will prevent tarnish. Tarnish is caused from a reaction between silver, oxygen and moisture. Some body oils make the silver oxidize faster than others. To maintain silver white as original, store jewelry in a cool and dry place. Sterling Silver is best stored in a plastic bag with something to wick out moisture such as a carbon pack or silica pack (found in dry food packages).
